Resume Tips

Since 1994, The Cadman Group has been presenting resumes to our clients. Over this time, we have been able to consistently provide our clients with targeted resumes which match the positions they are trying to fill. Our approach is to ensure your resume is complete, in your own words, and formatted by you for submission to our clients.

Please submit your resume in MS Word format, this allows us to store it electronically and promptly forward it to our clients after our normal process.

Notes & Tips:

  • Resumes should be 2 – 4 pages in length, positions that are more than 5 years old should be shortened in length
  • Provide details including information about your skills, not just an overview of past responsibilities. Provide as much detail as necessary for the client to make an informed decision.
  • Multiple resume versions: a general-purpose resume does not (in most cases) provide enough detail for a client to make an informed decision to interview
  • Take the time to understand each client’s or employer’s requirement and tailor your resume to highlight required skills.
  • Include non-work activities where they reflect positively on your skills and abilities. (E.g. you voluntarily contributed your programming skills to a non-profit organization.)
  • Proof read your resume, basic spelling mistakes on your resume may lead a potential employer to set aside your resume. Have a friend read it thoroughly for grammar and spelling.
